The Rotbert Law Group, LLC litigates and tries cases in many areas of the law, involving a wide range of business matters, including commercial contract disputes, breach of warranty, business torts, construction disputes, insurance coverage matters, and civil RICO. The attorneys at The Rotbert Law Group, LLC have experience in numerous federal courts, state courts, and before arbitration panels.
We understand that most clients do not favor litigation, and that most clients see litigation as a necessary cost of doing business, reasonably more complex than a business transaction and often more time-consuming. We understand from experience that most business litigation represents the failure of business negotiation. Accordingly, at the outset of each representation, we work with our client first to understand its business goals and then, if necessary, to develop a separate litigation goal -- and a litigation strategy to meet that goal -- that are consistent with our client's underlying business objectives. We seek to litigate each case in a pragmatic, cost-effective fashion that minimizes disruption to business.

- Successfully removed a Complaint filed against the former shareholders of a defunct business from New York Supreme Court to U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, which effectively resolved the dispute. Click here for the District Court's ruling.

- Successfully appealed a dismissal in New York for an injured patient whose attorney had been suspended from the practice of law but had failed to advise his client of his incapacity. Click here for the Second Department's Opinion.
- Prosecuting federal Privacy Act and related claims against the Air Force on behalf of a former Brigadier General in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.
- Representing a large organization of computer integrators, resellers, and computer solution providers in a legal malpractice action.
- Successfully defended an action in the Federal District Court for the Southern District of New York against an insurance adjuster who was convicted of wire fraud against the firm's clients. Click here for the District Court's final ruling.
- Representing Montgomery County businesses - including in the biotech industry - in actions in Montgomery County Circuit Court.
- Obtained favorable arbitration decree on behalf of a Maryland custom home builder.
