Mitchell J. Rotbert founded The Rotbert Law Group, LLC, in March 2000. Mr. Rotbert has over seventeen years of experience in complex contract litigation, as well as in environmental and insurance law and litigation, including prosecution of insurance claims on behalf of policyholders, construction litigation, civil RICO and fraud claims, and claims against the United States. Mr. Rotbert advises and appears in Court on behalf of corporations, counties and municipalities, and private individuals nationwide. Through Mr. Rotbert, The Rotbert Law Group, LLC serves Shan Industries, LLC, as its General Counsel. Mr. Rotbert is on the Board of Advisors of the
Chemical Waste Litigation Reporter.
Before founding RLG, Mr. Rotbert was a partner at Greenberg Traurig LLP in Washington, DC. Before joining Greenberg Traurig in March 1995, Mr. Rotbert was associated with the New York-based firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges, where he provided regulatory advice and litigation services, predominantly in the areas of insurance and environmental law.
Mr. Rotbert also served, from 1992-1995, as a Barrister to the Prettyman-Leventhal American Inn of Court in Washington, D.C., where he was awarded a national first place prize from the National Inns of Court in 1993. Mr. Rotbert also served as clerk to the Honorable Noel Anketell Kramer in the Superior Court for the District of Columbia from 1987-1988.
Mr. Rotbert is admitted to practice law in New York, Maryland, and the District of Columbia, and is a member of the Maryland State and Montgomery County Bar Associations, the District of Columbia Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. Mr. Rotbert is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court; the United States Courts of Appeal for the District of Columbia Circuit, the Second Circuit, the Fourth Circuit, and the Eleventh Circuit; the Federal District Courts for the District of Columbia, Maryland and New York; as well as the Courts of the States of New York, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
Mr. Rotbert graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C (1988), and earned his B.A. from Columbia University (1982). Mr. Rotbert was the Assistant Editor of the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal, and was contributing author to a law textbook prepared by Professor R. Chused in 1988.
